Thank you for the picture of your lock core. I can tell you that the correct replacement key for your N047 lock core on your Karrite Expedition is the Replacement Key for Thule Racks and Carriers # THKEYN047.
As far as removing the key, calling a locksmith will be the most sure fire way. You can try removing the key yourself using some needle nose pliers if you can get to the end of the key. If not, you can try using a hot glue gun stick. You just need to soften the end of the glue guns stick and press it into the lock, wait for it to harden around the key and then slowly remove the stick/key. This may take a few times and likely will not completely remove the key. However, you should hopefully be able to get the key out far enough to grab it with the pliers.
