Question:
How do I know what weight capacity I need for 5th Wheel tripod. I have a Cedar Creek 388DB. Weight 13000+. I see some that say 1200 lbs, 5000 lbs.. Also, what seems to be the best tripod that people are using?? New to the tripod world.. Tx,

Since the king pin stabilizer is only a stabilizer and not actually bearing the full weight you won't actually need to match the pin weight of the trailer and could go with a lower rated (1200lb capacity) stabilizer. The difference between the two would simply be that the higher rated stabilizers can withstand more of a push when wind is picking up and pushing your trailer side to side.
One other thing to look for is just how high the stabilizer can go to ensure that it will fit when the trailer is leveled. You'll want to level your trailer and then measure from the ground to the king pin plate on your pin box to determine the height needed. There are leg extensions, like # UF19-950202 and # UF19-950002, available for some stabilizers as well to help reach the height needed.
With the prices for higher rated options being so close to the lower rated options I, personally would go with the higher rated stabilizer to get better support. I recommend the # UF19-950500, as it already comes painted and ready to go out of the box. If you end up needing leg extensions then I recommend the # UF19-950202 since they're aluminum and will resist rusting.
