Can 20 inch 1,500 lb Axle Trailer Leaf Spring be Replaced with 2,000 lb 20-3/8 inch Leaf Spring

Question:
I have a tandem axle boat trailer that came with 20 inch double eye 1500 lb springs. My question is can I upgrade to the 20-3/8 spring that is a 2000lb spring? The shackle straps and equalizer seems like it would move enough to make this work but I want to be sure before I try. Thanks

Yes you could replace your 20 inch long 1,500 lb trailer axle leaf spring with a 20-3/8 inch long 2,000 lb leaf spring part # SP-169275. The slight increase in length wouldn't be an issue. You should note that this does not necessarily give your trailer additional weight capacity as the leaf spring isn't the only thing that is weight rated.
