Compatibility of Curt Class III # 13354 Hitch with 2011 Acura MDX Equipped with 19 Inch Spare Tire
Updated 01/23/2014 | Published 01/21/2014 >
Question:
The description says this hitch can fit a full size spare, but since the 2011 MDX Advance comes with 19 inch full size, would it also fit? I know that 18 and 19 inch tires have the same outer dimension, but what about the width of the tire when installed upward?

My contact in the tech services department at Curt Manufacturing tells me that the 19 inch full-sized spare will not interfere with the hitch once its installed. It is not absolutely necessary to remove the spare for the installation, but temporarily removing it will make the install much easier. While raising the spare back into position once the hitch is installed, you might need to push the spare slightly toward the front of the vehicle, but everything will clear just fine.
