Do Transmission Coolers have to Install in Specific Orientation

Question:
Can a plate and fin or stacked plate cooler be mounted with the plates vertical? If so should the inlet be on top?

All transmission coolers including plate and fin and stacked plate coolers like the Derale # D51906 can be installed facing up or or down or even sideways. The line pressure of the transmission pushes the fluid through the cooler regardless of its orientation.
