Thanks for getting back to me and answering my question. Sounds like I need to find a different hitch for my RAM 3500 puck system short bed. Unless there is a replacement hitch plate that can be installed on the curt frame

I do have an option for you but the Curt A-Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches like part # C16140 are only compatible with the first generation Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pins, not the second generation Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin because there was an issue with the wedge shearing off during testing. If you have the first generation then you can use the Sidewinder Wedge for Curt A Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # C16992 but if you have the second generation then you will need to use a different fifth wheel hitch like the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30928 with Sidewinder Wedge Kit part # RP44FR.

There is actually another Curt fifth wheel hitch head you can use with your existing base and is compatible with the second generation Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pins when using the correct wedge. The only downside is that the head is rated for a bit less than the Curt A20 at 16,000 lbs. This is the Replacement Head Unit for Curt E16 Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16515 which would also require the Sidewinder Wedge Kit for Curt E-Series Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP64FR.
