Does Heat Shield of 2018 Chevy Cruze Have to be Modified Like Curt Recommends
Published 11/30/2022 >
Question:
Do really need to cut the heat shield in half like I see in most videos, how about if i cut around the the 2 install holes on the shield leaving the shield intact and attaching the hitch to it. should not affect how the hitch sits there , the shield is thin.

Often times there are different ways to modify the heat shield of a vehicle when installing a hitch like the Curt # C11439 on your 2018. Typically our manufacturers recommend the simplest way to modify it but going a different route can work well. We can't guarantee that what you wanted to do would work but worse case scenario you could try it and then go the way Curt recommends and for sure that would work.
