Question:

What kind of vent cover I need for my hinges? I ordered a plastic vent cover with a continuous metal hinge, but it does not work. The plastic vent cover that I had had plastic hinge points of some kind, but it broke into many pieces due to brittleness.

Thanks for the photo; the hinge type for your vent lid is the continuous kind you mentioned, though there have been many issues with fits (as you found out) when replacing that lid. What you can use instead is a simple universal option that installs on the frame of your vent, and you can choose from White or Smoke color:
