Question:
Regarding the Sh98vr kit, can we substitute the Tk47fr wiring kit which I assume is plug and play for the 2016 BMW X5 Or are there other options that are plug and play,

Thanks for reaching out!
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK47FR is a little more plug and play compared to the wiring that comes with the Towing Kit w/ Ball Mount and Trailer Wiring for Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH98VR, the wiring kits can't really be swapped out and unfortunately the Stealth Hitches kit has enough parts in it to warrant the need of the whole kit (like the ball mount and safety chain loops).
What you can do to mitigate the amount of splicing is get the T-One in addition to the Stealth Hitches towing kit. Then if you just need a 4-Way you can disregard the Stealth Hitches towing kit but if you end up needing the 7-Way you can cut off the 4-Way on the T-One and splice in the wiring from the Stealth Hitches kit so you have less splicing to factor into the equation.
I know this probably isn't what you want to hear but I hope this helps clear things up!
