This looks like the perfect solution for when I go riding with all my biking buddies. Is this permanently mounted to the vehicle? Does it work with all kinds of valve stems? Thanks!

Yes, the Viair TLC BOOST Air Compressor item # VA37WR can be permanently mounted to your vehicle. The hardware necessary to install the compressor is included. It does work with all kinds of valve stems.
This 1.5 gallon air tank fills from empty to 120 psi in under 90 seconds. The inflation attachment has a built in pressure gauge so you can easily see how full you are airing up your bike tires.
