Updated 09/06/2022 | Published 08/30/2022

Question:

DM8759933. I installed this unit on a trailer with a set of Kodiak 225 disc brake. I noticed the actuator was for drum brakes. #1 what will be the issue? If there is, can you get me a weld on unit as close to the dimensions as the above unit. thank you

Yes it will be an issue if you use The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM8759933 with your disc brakes because it is for a drum brake setup. You will need The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout # DM8759422.

This system is a weld on or bolt on actuator that will work well with your Kodiak 225 disc brakes. It has a heavy steel construction that has a channel height of 8 inches and will mount on a 3 inch wide trailer tongue.

You can not use a drum actuator on disc brakes because it will not supply enough pressure to fully engage the brake assemblies.

I attached a review video link below.
