Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2 Hobie Mirage Lynx Kayaks on a Gobi Stealth Rack

Question:

I have a 2000 4runner with a Gobi stealth rack. I have two Hobie Mirage Lynx kayaks. I want to mount them on their side so I have more room for other equipment. They are 35 at the widest point and 10 thick. What system can you recommend ?

To haul you kayaks side by side I recommend picking up the Rhino-Rack 2 Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # S512-S512X. This will fit around standard crossbars and from what I can tell it looks like the Gobi Stealth Rack you have on your 2000 Toyota 4Runner has some round bars you'll be attaching this carrier to.

I like this setup because it gives you more stability and the parts touching your kayaks are padded so you don't have to worry about any kind of scratches. Please note that you might need to add a rubber wrap or sleeve around the Gobi crossbar to help limit the amount of movement any carrier might have since the bars are round.
