Will The Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock Activate Off Of The Lock Switch In The Door Of A Toyota Tacoma

Question:

I am interested in purchasing the Pop and Lock #PAL8540 for my 2012 Toyota Tacoma. I like the idea of having both a power and manual option, especially if my battery dies for some reason. However, Id like to know if the power lock would be activated by the power door lock switch on the driver door as well as with the key fob. I dont tend to have the key fob with me very often and usually lock my doors using the door switch as Im getting out of the vehicle, then unlock the driver door with my key and unlock the rest of the doors using the door switch. Will this also work to lock and unlock my tailgate by linking it with the passenger and/or double cab doors not the driver door?

The Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock with Handle - Power Lock and Manual BOLT Lock - Black # PAL8540 will activate from your factory locking mechanisms, so when you lock the doors of your Tacoma with the button the Pop & Lock will also lock.

If you locked all the doors and manually opened the driver door with the key the Pop & Lock would not unlock until you pressed the switch on your door or went and opened it with the key. It would essentially work just like your passenger doors.
