What Distance Apart Does Malone YakSwing Kayak Carrier Normally Install

Question:
Folks, my product not here yet so i am writing to ask what is the optimal distance between the 2 parts of the kayak holder to be installed? even a range would help. Or do you have a ratio to offer? For example, for a 12 foot kayak use x but for a 10 foot kayak use y. Many thanks.

Expert Reply:
Since the Malone YakSwing Kayak Carrier # MPG383 installs into wall studs behind drywall the two sections of the rack normally install 32 inches or 48 inches apart since that's typically where the studs line up. So if you wanted to use a stud detector to find yours you'd have a good idea where to mount the rack.
