Question:

My van is the standard wheelbase not extended passenger van with the 4.8 V-8 engine. It is the base model, manual roll up windows and no cruise control not an LX. I would like to get a front mount hitch receiver to install a bike rack/ carrier and to more easily maneuver a boat into a relatively narrow parking space behind my garage. I am looking for a hitch receiver that really fits...I am turning the installation over to my local car repair guy. Any suggestions?

I reached out to my rep at Curt and was able to get a couple of options for you. Both of these are going to require some modifications because there is no custom fit front hitch available for your 2012 Chevy Express 2500 Cutaway Van. Your best bet is to use the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13701. This hitch will fit frame widths of 18" to 51" you can either use the included hardware to bolt the hitch to the frame, which will require drilling, or you can have a certified professional weld it directly for a no-drill application. The hitch itself has a 5,000 pound towing weight capacity and a 500 pound tongue weight limit.

Another option is to use the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver for Custom Fabricated Hitches item # E17 and have a welder fabricate you a crossbeam to attach to your Chevy's front frame. I have attached a diagram below of the dimensions.
