Question:
How do I tell if my Nissan Titan 2010 has factory wiring for this controller? it has a 7 way plug on back. does that mean I can order with the adapter shown and it just plugs in

All 2010 Nissan Titans came equipped with the connector under the dash, which is located between the steering column and the emergency brake pedal. I have provided a photo showing where the plug is located.
The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 you mentioned is a very good brake controller that would be a great choice. You would also need the Nissan Brake Controller Wiring Adapter, part # 3050-P. The controller would mount to the underside of the dash within easy reach of the driver, usually to the right of the steering column. One end of the 3050-P would plug into the back of the brake controller, the other end would plug into the connector under the dash.
