First , this is a great kit. I have installed the strap as shown in video. Additionally I wrapped the strap once around my awning extension arms. My question is: Is this ok to do? Thank you.

@PeteC The 25' Awning Tie-Down Kit # 3729253 strap is just there to provide tension so that the awning isn't flapping up and down in the wind. If wrapping the strap around the arms diminishes the tension then I'd say remove it. If you still have a good tension on the strap without being too tough on the awning arms then you're good to go.
