Question:

Hello, I have a 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid and I need the wiring harness for my car. I took off my panel inside driver’s and see the plug under the back bumper. Excited that I can throw these wires on! I do want the capability to plug i either a 4 pin, or 7 pin. I *think* it would be 7 pin. I don’t have a trailer yet, but plan on pulling a small trailer with brakes. I see there is a nice mount option to connect those wires, but not sure what I will need to completely outfit Ruby the new car. I was looking at Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way to 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat- will that work with the T connector plug and play set? What would I need to get all the wires and brake controls? I see I have some empty spots on my dash area and near center console for the brake control.

When it comes to installing trailer wiring on your 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK99FR will give you the 4 flat option. This wiring plugs behind the trim panel near the driver's side rear seat belt bracket. You will have to pull back the side trim panel to access the harness. The wiring is constructed of a 16-gauge bonded wire.

To go from the 4 flat wiring to the 7 and 4 flat option you need The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7. This adapter plus into the existing 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle. The ETBC7 has 3 additional wires you will have to hook up.

Black - 12 Volt Hot Lead
Blue - Electric Brakes
White - Ground
