Trailer Brake Controller for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Factory 7-Way Connector

Question:

I bought a new trailer and it has electric brakes so I need a brake control. My 2015 Grand Cherokee has the factory 7-Way plug on it. What else do I need?

For your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee I recommend the P3 brake controller, # 90195. This is a proportional controller that will apply the trailer brakes in proportion to how much the Jeep is braking. this is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on the vehicle and trailer compared to a time delay controller.

This controller also has easy to read diagnostics so you will not have to look up any fault codes. It also has several presets if you tow multiple trailers and you can even change the display color.

Since your Jeep has the factory installed 7-Way the only other part I recommend is wiring harness # TK93VR. This will allow you to plug the controller directly into the Jeep without having to cut and splice any wires. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
