Question:
Hi, I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee, but no factory tow package. I do have a hitch installed from uhaul with the 4 way pin. Can I use this plug n play adapter since the hitch was installed from uhaul with the 4-way pin? I looked under the dash behind the hood release, I do see a gray plug under there, however it is fastened to some other wires.

Since your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee did not come with the towing package, you do not have the available port to plug in a brake controller using a plug n play adapter. You will need to hardwire your brake controller. For your Jeep, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller item # RED24FR. The Liberty is a proportional brake controller that activates your trailers brakes when your Jeep decelerates. It also has a unique installation method where the main portion of the brake controller is installed behind your dash and the only visible portion is the control knob. You will also need the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers item # RED69FR to complete your installation.
Since you only have a 4-flat you will also need the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your Jeep with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
