Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit # 52728-1 does require you to use a crossbar with your Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522. You will need the Replacement Quick Disconnect Crossbar Assembly # 910021-00 if you do not currently have a one for your 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata.
The RoadMaster Falcon 2 and Falcon All-Terrain Combo Towing Kit # RM-9243-1 will provide you with the wiring needed for connecting the tail lights of your Miata to operate off the tail lights on your tow vehicle.
Be sure to check the local laws where you live and plan to tow your Miata as you may require a Supplemental Braking System like the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This will operate the brakes on your Miata when the brakes of your tow vehicle are used.
