What is the largest diameter rope one could half hitch to this cleat?

The gap between the sides and the center of the cleat and the center of the cleat and the mounting surface is exactly 3/4 of an inch. If the rope used was pretty flexible, you might be able to get 3/4 inch diameter rope through there, but in all likelihood, you will probably have difficulty running anything much over 1/2 inch through the cleat.
