Question:

I have a yakima skybox, currently on a Yakima rack and roll trailer. I would like to place it on my roof and use the trailer for a second kayak. I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee with black and chrome flush side rails but no crossbars. The yakima web site says none of theirs are compatible. I am looking for compatible cross bars both for the jeep and yakima skybox. Help!

Help is on the way! You are correct that Yakima does not have any roof rack systems that are confirmed to fit your black and chrome flush rails on your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, we do have some great crossbar systems that definitely work with your rails as well as your Yakima Skybox. For an amazing setup, I recommend the following parts:

With this setup, you will be able clamp the Skybox to your crossbars. Also, you get the benefit of having an aerodynamic system that decreases wind resistance and increases fuel economy. With this roof rack, you have a 150-pound weight capacity. As with all roof racks, I recommend making sure that you have enough weight capacity on your roof to support that much weight.

It is important to note that, depending on what Skybox model you have, there may be interference when you open the trunk. If you need help determining whether you can open your trunk all the way, feel free to respond to this answer with the model of Skybox you have.
