Is the Carr Custom-Fit Side Step 17 Inches Wide or 5 Inches Wide

on the Carr Custom-Fit Side Step - Super Hoop - Polished Aluminum - 17inch Step - Qty 1 Item # CARR124032-1 the heading reads 17 inches , but in details below it read 5 inch width, i just want to be sure this is 17 inches wide and polished. thanks

The Carr Custom-Fit Side Step # CARR124032-1 measures 17" long x 5" wide. Step dimensions can be a little confusing because traditionally wide to us means left-to-right, but when it comes to steps the width is front-to-back if we are looking at it head on.

It might be less confusing to think of it as the step being 17" wide and 5" deep but the industry doesn't list steps that way which is why it looks a little confusing.
