Height of Handle of Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch DL16003

Question:
Can you please tell me the height of the handle at it’s lowest point from the base? Also, is it possible to mount the winch vertically but still use to pull horizontally? Im mounting this on platform to pull a double hull kayak from a truck bed and need to make sure the platform of the kayak will clear the winch at it’s lowest possible height. Thanks!

I was able to find the dimensional drawing for you of the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL16003.
As you can see, the height of the handle from the base measures 11-3/4 inches. And as for mounting, I checked with Dutton-Lainson, and the # DL16003 is only to be mounted horizontally.
