Will Blue Ox Base Plate for 2021 Honda Civic Cause Cooling Issues
Published 01/06/2022 >
Question:
2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring 6 speed 1.5 Turbo I have watched the install video that I believe David F did. Concern: The plastic shielding around the condenser was removed AND NOT replaced clearly due to interference with new baseplate. I live in Phoenix. High temps often 110+ in summer. The shielding is likely to help for cooling. Any partial re-install. Concerns and comments?? Hope test fit David could respond given specific issue.

Sometimes there are pieces of the vehicle that get left off when installing a base plate kit like the # BX2265 just due to fact they occupy space on the front of the vehicle where space is tight. What we've found with this base plate kit is that there is no effect on cooling power with the shielding removed. We've sold quite a few of these base plate kits to people who have put quite a few miles on the vehicle without any reported issue so I would not anticipate any problems even in your very hot climate. The modern electric fans on vehicles can move a lot of air now so vehicles don't struggle to stay cool like they once did.
