Recommended Winch for MasterCraft ProStar 19 Boat

Question:

what size or capacity boat trailer winch do i need for a master craft pro star 19 ft. boat . the boat weighs about 3500 lbs. , want to use the strap type winch and want it to be easy to winch in for my wife. I do like the look of the new fulton winchs with the enclosed housing.

The standard ratio we use for selecting a boat trailer winch is 2:1 which means the winch at a minimum needs to be rated for half the weigh of the boat. The Fulton 2-Speed Trailer Winch part # F142425 is a great option with enclosed housing and included strap/clevis. This would be perfect for a MasterCraft ProStar 19' Boat with extra capacity to spare. It has a two speed operation which will make using the winch easier in the low speed gear but there is also a high gear if you just want to get the boat in as fast as possible.
