Question:
I’m trying to figure out which Gen y Coupler I would need for my horse trailer, I want the Gen Y Pegasus, not recessed, 11” offset, just don’t know which weight rating I need, I cannot find a tongue weight for my trailer anywhere, the trailer is a 2014 Bison Stratus, all aluminum, living quarters, 3- horse slant. The trailer is 34’ long, weighs 7600 pounds empty and approximately 12-13K with horses and tack. The tow vehicle is a 2011 Ram 3500 SRW, 6.7 Cummins. Thanks for your help.

For a gooseneck or fifth wheel trailer, the general rule of thumb is that the pin weight would be roughly 20% of the trailers GVWR, which is about 14200 lbs which would put your maximum pin weight around 2800 lbs.
Given that, I'd recommend the Gen-Y # 325-GH-7007 Pegasus Gooseneck coupler, which features an 11 inch offset for more clearance between the truck and trailer, and is designed for a recessed gooseneck ball. The coupler has a 3500 lb pin weight capacity, which is plenty for your needs. The coupler is compatible with a standard 4 inch coupler tube.
The # 325-GH-7046 you'd looked for isn't designed for a recessed gooseneck ball, so it wouldn't work for you.
