The NC error code displayed by a Draw-TIte iCommand # 5535 brake controller means that the controller isn't making a connection to the trailer brake magnets. This could be caused by several things, a corroded or damaged connector on the trailer or the tow vehicle, a loose connection on brake output circuit on the trailer or a worn brake magnet.

• Carefully examine the trailer connector on the trailer and the tow vehicle. If there is white or green corrosion on
the pins or sockets, the corrosion might have spread to the terminals where the wires attach to the connector,
preventing the voltage from reaching the brakes.

• Trace the brake output circuit on the trailer. Look for loose connections or pinched wires.

• Check the wiring connections at each brake magnet. Each magnet will have two wires exiting it, one grounds to
clean bare metal on the trailer frame, the other should be securely connected to the brake output circuit.

• Pull a hub, and take a look at the face of the magnet that rides against the inside armature surface of the brake
drum. If the magnet is worn to the point where you can see the copper wiring showing, the magnet is worn and
needs replacing. In this instance, we recommend replacing the entire brake assembly. This way, you'll have all
new magnets, brake shoes adjusters and springs.

I'll link to an article about brake controller troubleshooting that you might find helpful.
