You definitely have options for adding a tonneau cover and ladder rack to your 2022 Ford Ranger with a 5 foot bed. As requested, I have the top of the line best option listed first, then the more economical option listed second. With that said, let's get into it.

The RetraxONE XR Hard Tonneau Cover # RTT-60335 is one of my favorite covers currently on the market. This is due to it retracting into a canister when open so it does not block your rear window at all. Being American made and having built-in T-slots for a ladder rack are just further good things about it. These T-slots will allow the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack # Y01151-5855 to install quickly and easily as well. One of the things I really like about this rack is that you can adjust the height from 19" to 30" from the top of the bed rails. This makes finding the best loading height quick and easy as well. There are not a lot of other racks that will have this feature. This will definitely be an expensive way to go, but it is also an extremely nice way to go as well.

For the more economical set up, check out the Lomax Hard Tonneau Cover # A95FR to start with. This is a folding style cover, so it will block the rear window when all the way open, but it is actually easier to install as you do not need drain tubes for water run off and can actually hold up to 400 pounds of weight, whereas the # RTT-60335 can hold up to 200 pounds. So it's actually a little more heavy duty. With how this installs, it will also let you attach the Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack # A36ZR. Though this is not adjustable like the Yakima # Y01151-5855 is, they both hold the same 500 pound carrying capacity.

To sum everything up, you will lose some of the features going with the less expensive set up, but you will not lose any carrying capacity. Both the # A36ZR and # A95FR are also American made, which is a big plus in my book. On the flip side, I also really like the retractable # RTT-60335 and having the ability to adjust the height of the ladder rack bars on the # Y01151-5855 is a very nice feature as well. Either way you decide to go, you will be very happy.
