Question:

I am looking for an AC unit for a Cargo Trailer to Camper conversion project and I am considering the Advent Air 15k Btu with Air Dist, start capacitor and heat strip. Would this unit benefit from a SoftStart or EasyStart module? Would it make it start easier? Thank you.

The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150CH does come with a start capacitor # ACMSCKIT which is designed to jumpstart your AC when the generator does not provide enough power.

However. the SoftStartRV Soft Start for RV AC Units # SSR54FR you mention is virtually the same as a start capacitor mentioned earlier. This unit, however, will make the unit start easier as well as reduce the start up power demand of your AC by 70 percent. The SoftStartRV will also eliminate the sometimes shaky, loud, start ups experienced by RV AC units.

You would not need both, just one or the other.
