Question:
I installed the power pop in lock on my 2014 Tacoma. I attached the wires to the blue black and the blue red. My doors still work with the remote but the pop n lock doesn’t work at all. Could there be a wire I miss wired or is there a way I can test the voltage? What should the voltage be and will it only show voltage when using the key fob? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The wires are only going to have power while hitting the button to send the signal to lock or unlock the tailgate. I recommend checking the wires with a tester like the LCD Digital Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to ensure you spliced into the correct wires. Next I recommend checking the connection points to ensure there isn't a loose connection. The Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock # PAL8521 wires should only have power running to them when the lock or unlock button is pressed so if you aren't getting a voltage on those wires then you'll know either the wrong wire was spliced into or the connection to the wire is the issue.
