Question:
I have a 280 pound dirt bike and 60 pound bike carrier that I would like to occasionally transport on the front of my 2004 Toyota Tacoma extended cab, V6, TRD using this front hitch. I understand the tongue weight of the hitch is sufficient at 500 pounds but, with placing that sort of weight out in front of the truck any recommendations on whether one should make changes to the front suspension and handling to support the weight?

Yes, the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31013 will be sufficient to carry your 280lb dirt bike with the 60lb carrier on your 2004 Toyota Tacoma.
I do recommend using the Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs # CSS-1125F to provide additional support to your front suspension. The front suspension on your Tacoma is not designed like the rear suspension that is there to carry additional weight. The SumoSprings will insert into your current coils and provide additional support to prevent the front suspension from sagging as much and also provide additional support under braking so that you don't get as much front end dive. Since you won't always have the additional weight of the Dirt Bike this is a better choice than the Timbren that will create a harsher ride when unloaded.
