In order to get your 2021 Toyota Sienna ready to tow a trailer, you will need the following items. You will need a hitch receiver, a wiring harness kit, for a 4-wy, a wiring harness for a 7-way connector, and a brake controller.

The hitch receiver that I recommend is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2", part Item # DT55MR. This hitch receiver has a maximum tongue weight of 675 lbs and a maximum gross trailer weight of 4,500 lbs.

The next thing you will need a 4-way wiring harness. I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part # TK69FR. This is a custom wiring harness that plugs directly into your existing wiring, no splicing of wiring needed. The connection point is located in the rear cargo area.

The brake controller I recommend is the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional, part # RED44FR. It is a proportional brake controller, which means the same power you apply to your brake in the tow vehicle is applied the your trailers brakes. It also has a 3-axis accelerometer, so it can be installed in any direction.

Once you have the 4-way connector installed you can move on to the installation of the 7-way connector. The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires, part # ETBC7, is my recommendation. It comes with a bracket to secure it to your hitch receiver. With this installed you gain the flexibility to use a 4-way or a 7-way connector on your towed trailer.
