Is Lock Design of Yakima CBX Roof Box Newer Version than Older Skybox

Question:
Has the locking system been changed from the 2016 skybox, which malfunctioned half the time. .. if so I plan on ordering one today.

The Yakima CBX part # Y66FR is a totally new design from the older Skybox that you mentioned. This means that the lock assembly is new and updated as well.
