Will 12 inch Keel Roller Help Load Boat on Trailer in River

Published 10/28/2021

Question:

Two Questions for the Experts. Im interested in purchasing the part for my 1997 Shorelander 18foot Roller Trailer. I have a Sylvan Deep V 16foot Boat. Will this Help me keep my boat straight when putting the boat back on the trailer? Question Two, Am I over killing it with the 12 inch roller or am I better off with an 8 inch roller? Having difficult time keeping the bow straight when putting the boat on the trailer especially on rivers. Thought of another question, Do I need two or can I get by with the One. Thank You and waiting for your expert advice.

Yes the CE SMith Deep V Keel Roller part # CE10455G that you referenced will help center your boat as you pull it up on the trailer. The 12 inch version would not be overkill. Using two of these like what you see in the picture I attached will do a great job keeping your boat centered as you load it. This will help with crosswinds and river currents like you are dealing with.
