The side mount morryde rotopax bracket shows two different shapes. One has an angle and the other is more square. The two vids shown the square being mounted but the review is for the angle cut one. Is the angle one a newer model or are they two different models?

That's a good question and they are actually two different models; one is for the driver's side and the other is for the passenger's side. The angled shape is for the driver side of your Jeep Wrangler JK/JKU and the one that is a square is for the passenger's side:
