I installed a curt c13234 hitch and curt c56292 wiring harness on a 2015 Ford Edge Sport. I can not get the handsfree liftgate to work no matter what I do. I ran the wiring behind the heat shield cover. Could this be causing the problem? Thanks

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56292 may be blocking the sensor for the handsfree liftgate on your 2015 Ford Edge or the wiring is causing interference.

We have installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13234 on a similar 2015 Ford Edge and tested the handsfree liftgate to still function properly. I have linked our installation video below that shows this.

I recommend dropping the rear fascia and temporarily moving the wiring away from the handsfree sensor. Be sure to check and ensure the sensor wasn't accidently unplugged when the receiver was installed. Once you have the sensor working you can attempt routing the wiring in a way that will not affect the handsfree sensor and secure the wiring in place after.
