Hitch for Bike Rack and Roof Rack for Kayak Carrier for 2003 Ford F-150

Question:

Hi, I would like to outfit my 2003 Ford F150 step side with a 2 inch hitch, my current two inch Yakima Bighorn 4 bike rack and add a kayak rack to the receiver. What is the most reasonable way to get this done. I have a fiberglass tonneau cover. I’m concerned about clearance between the bike rack and the kayak rack and kayak interface to the roof of the truck. Do you have any images of this type of configuration. Looking at hitch C13038, Erickson Big Bed Junior Load Extender EM07605. What receiver would be recommended? If I cant reach the roof of the cab is there another rack that would go on the front of the bed.

The Curt hitch part # C13038 is a confirmed fit for your 2003 Ford F-150 and would be a great option for carrying hitch accessories like your bike rack.

Then for a kayak carrier solution you'd want to go with a roof rack for the camper shell like with the Rhino Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells part # Y02-490B and a kayak carrier like the # S512. I wouldn't recommend trying to use a hitch T-load bar with a bike rack in a single hitch.
