I reached out to my contact at Curt and the display you are getting on your Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV you have is perfectly normal.
When you press the brake pedal in your truck the controller will read the power setting you have the controller set to. You can see this at the 3:20 minute mark of the included video when Ryan presses the brake pedal with no trailer connected.
