I have an Alpine 34’. I lost my manual 18’awning to a tree and would like to replace it with a LC70510 do I need the awning rail and does this awning have a metal cover??

You will need the Solera Awning Rail Extrusion # LC715216 for your Solera 18V Power RV Awning # LC730510, it is important to note that this product is sold in 8' sections. So if you need 18' you will need to order 3 sections and cut it down.
