Can the Rhino Rack Universal Platform Rack Clamping Brackets Be Installed on the Inner Channels

Question:
Hello. After watching the video reviews on this platform rack, Ive noticed the left/right most outside openinginch for the crossrail mount bracket isnt always used. Is it acceptable and safe to use the next inner openinginch between the planks to the crossrail mount brackets and attach to the vehicle crossrails? Thanks for your time and expertise. Regards

Yes. You can use the inner channels on the Rhino-Rack Universal Platform Rack # RR42115BF to mount the clamps, but this cannot be done on the # RR42114BF - per my contact at Rhino-Rack.
