Question:
I have a 2011 Kia Sportage and I’m hoping to install a tow hitch on it with the intention of attaching a motorcycle carrier on it to tow a dirt bike on it. Would this be possible? Could it be done with a heavy duty tow hitch that requires drilling? Thank you

I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13120 for your 2011 Kia Sportage. This receiver has a 2" receiver and is rated for up to 525lbs of tongue weight. Be sure to verify through your Kia dealer the maximum tongue weight allowed for your specific Sportage. This is a bolt on installation that does not require any additional drilling on your frame.
The etrailer Motorcycle Carrier w/ Ramp # e98873 weighs only 58lbs and can support a dirt bike up to 500lbs. Paired with your Sportage you will be able to carry a bike up to 472lbs.
I highly recommend a set of Auxiliary Lights # C53201 that attach through a 4-way flat trailer connector. These will ensure that the vehicles behind you can see your tail lights. You will need the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118526 to give your Sportage the connection necessary for the lights.
