Question:
I have a 2000 Dodge Ram van 3500 and want to connect a Tekonsha Voyager brake controller to this vehicle. What color is the brake switch cold side wire on this van? Thanks for your help

Expert Reply:
According to some brake controller instructions for a different controller the brake switch wire on a 2000 Dodge vehicle is white and would connect to the brake controller red wire. However, you will want to test to be sure before splicing into any wires. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if you do not already have one. You will test the brake switch wires until you find the one that shows power ONLY when you apply the brake pedal. If you find a wire you think is correct, but it also shows power with the headlights or turn signals it is not the correct wire.
