Recommended Roof Rack To Carry Tent On 2021 Jeep Wrangler Hard Top

Question:

I am looking to add a roof rack bar like what you have on your website and then add a tent max 3 people up to 550lbs on top of it. would you recommend these bars to add on my Jeep Wrangler 2021 rubicon with hard top. if so, will two bars handle it or would you recommend to add three or four of these bars and then add the tent on top of it or do you have or recommend a different roof rack full plate or bars for this process. thanks,

A roof rack with 2 crossbars would be sufficient, however, the Rhino-Rack SG Roof Rack # RRSG59 that you were looking at only has a weight capacity of 88lbs which would not be enough for a typical roof top tent. You want a roof rack that has a higher weight capacity than the weight of your empty tent (no people or cargo in the tent).

I recommend the Thule WingBar Evo 60" Crossbars black # TH711520 (or # TH711500 for silver crossbars) along with the necessary Gutter Feet # TH93ZR. This attaches to your hardtop's gutters and provides a 2 crossbar system that has a weight capacity of 165lbs, which is the highest weight capacity system available. I attached a demonstration video which shows you how easy it is to install and use this roof rack. Just remember to never exceed the weight limit of your Jeep's roof or roof rack.
