Making the Connection Under the Hood of a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander for Trailer Wiring
Updated 03/28/2013 | Published 03/26/2013 >
Question:
When I removed the battery and looked for the under hood harness, I found a black connector, not a grey one. It fits, but is it the correct connector?

The connector under the hood of your 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander may not be gray. All indications suggest that there should be one connector there that will fit the harness in # 118518 so it does sound like you have the correct harness and plug. If the plug in question is located in the same location as in the video I have linked, then it is correct.
