Modern Replacement For Jensen AWM968 Stereo

Question:

Hello, Ive read a bunch of articles on etrailer.com about replacing the Jensen AWM968, primarily with JWM60A. However, even the JWM60A looks like its from the early 90s.. are there other more modern options available ? Or, is there a kit that can convert the Jensen opening to accommodate a standard double DIN, or a touch screen option to replace maybe?

You are right about the look of the # JWM60A, though the reason we recommend it as a replacement for the AWM968 is that it is the model that technically replaced the AWM968 when it was discontinued in 2017. Having said that, there is an option, that has a more modern look that will work:

- Furrion RV Stereo - Double DIN - HDMI, AUX/USB, Bluetooth - 3 Zone - 12V # DV1230BL

This Furrion will work for you, will fit in a cut out that is 5-1/2 inches deep, 6-15/16 inches wide, and 4 inches tall, and overall the face measures 9-13/16 inches wide and 4-11/16 inches tall. So while it is not the exact same dimensions as the AWM968, depending on the size of your cut out, assuming it is not overly tall, the Furrion will fit nicely and have the sleeker look you want.
