Do I Need to Disengage the Brakes on my Trailer When Using the Trailer Valet XL
Published 04/24/2021 >
Question:
Hi. Just bought a Trailer Valet XL from y’all to help maneuver our 2021 Winnebago Hike 172BH into a tight spot in my driveway. I just wanted to ask if I need to disengag my trailer brakes somehow in order to use the device? Thanks in advance for the help!

This is a great question and typically travel trailers will have electric brakes so you won't need to worry about them engaging when operating the Trailer Valet XL # TVXL25 since the trailer shouldn't be plugged into anything during this moving process. From looking at the brochure for the 2021 Winnebago Hike it looks like they do have electric brakes on them, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
If it turns out you've got a trailer with a hydraulic surge brake actuator without a reverse lockout, then you will need to disengage the brakes to move the trailer backwards. You'll want to remember to re-engage them when you've completed moving your trailer.
