Trailer Valet Recommendation for Trailer to Help Maneuver Into Parking Spot

Updated 07/17/2019 | Published 07/16/2019

Question:

I have a 1200 lb boat including trailer. Due to narrow city street I need to winch it up a modest grade backwards while hand guiding the trailer younger to garage lip. That would be easy for many winches but I also need to now lower the trailer boat combo into the garage as there is a grade down as well! For the winch I am thinking to mount a socket for a low post almost to the ground. which the trailer. Needs to pass over. Weird isn’t it? The garage lip’s ramp down is steep but short..like launching a boat. if this is hard to visualize can I send you a drawing pdf?

Would a dolly possibly be easier to maneuver the trailer? Sounds like what you are really wanting to do is hand guide a trailer into a parking spot and were wanting a winch to help control it and guide it. For that type of application the Trailer Valet XL's like the part # TVXL25 for trailers with 2-5/16 inch balls or the # TVXL2 for trailers with 2 inch balls is the better solution.

These have a handle and hand crank which make them very easy to move trailers around and can also do inclines like what you can see in the attached review video link.
