Comparing Goal Zero Nomad 50W Portable Solar Panel And Go Power 90W Portable Solar Panel
Updated 04/19/2021 | Published 04/16/2021 >
Question:
Im looking at a portable system for my travel trailer. The Go Power Portable system 90 watt has a 25 year warranty on the panel and the Goal zero Nomad 50 only shows a 1 year warranty. Both use the same cell technology. Why only one year on the Nomad 50? Will the life of the solar panel be less? I like the lighter weight advantage of the Goal zero but dont want something that will not perform well in the long run.

Goal Zero Nomad 50 Solar Panel - Portable - 50 Watt - USB # GZ37FR and Go Power Portable Solar System with Digital Solar Controller - 90 Watt Solar Panel # 34282729 are just made by different companies and thus have different warranties to go along with it. The Goal Zero is much lighter like you mentioned, and also much cheaper than the Go Power option; but the difference in warranty would sway me towards the Go Power. The Go Power will also bring in more usable power than the Goal Zero.
The Go Power solar panel has been around longer and has a larger following and many more customer reviews, so I would rather go with a trusted product that has been thoroughly tested. That being said, since the cheaper Goal Zero solar panel is newer, it hasn't had the chance to be reviewed and tested as much.
In the end, I would chose the Go Power 90 Watt Solar Panel # 34282729 as it is currently more trusted and is also very robust and heavy duty. I attached a couple demonstration videos for you to check out.
